Incorporated on March 27, 1921, Orwell is the economic hub and Southwest Gateway to Ashtabula County. Dear Orwell Village Residents, Spring is here and it is time to rid your yard of winter debris. Some things to keep in mind  to avoid being in violation of Village Zoning Ordnance are: Do not allow any weeds and grass to attain a height of 12 inches or obstruct the safety vision of a driver of a motor vehicle. (Ordnance No. 91-4-1) Maintain all structures and exterior property, all dilapidated structures or structures in serious disrepair shall be removed, repaired, or rebuilt. All building surfaces shall be maintained free of broken glass, loose shingles, crumbling stone or brick, peeling paint or other conditions. (Ordnance No. 5-10-02) Fences, exterior stairways and retaining walls or similar structures shall be anchored firmly in the ground and shall always be in a state of good structural repair or shall be removed or replaced.
